A Persian-first personal notes app for Android, built for the Galaxy S24 Ultra and its S Pen: handwriting, text notes, meeting recordings and tasks, with Jalali dates, RTL and Persian digits, plus English.
Our role
Product design, Android app, sync server and infrastructure
Challenge
Notes apps are built either for the pen or for text and tasks, and almost none handle Jalali dates and RTL properly. We wanted handwriting, meetings and tasks side by side in one Persian app, kept in sync across devices.
Solution
A native Compose app with four tabs: Home (a daily cockpit with quick-capture keys, today's tasks, continue writing and pinned items), Notebooks, Meetings and Tasks. Low-latency androidx.ink for the S Pen, Gemini for meeting transcripts and summaries, and Paradise Code's own sync server on Ktor and PostgreSQL.

- S Pen handwriting: pressure pen, highlighter, eraser and lasso on ruled, grid or dot paper
- Multi-page notebooks, PDF and image import, and handwriting-to-text in Persian and English
- Block text notes with markdown shortcuts, checklists that sync with Tasks, links and backlinks
- Meeting recording with Gemini transcripts, summaries, decisions and suggested tasks; tap a line to hear that moment
- Tasks with a Jalali date picker, exact reminders with notification actions, and repeats
- Home-screen widgets, quick capture from the lock screen and S Pen, Quick Settings tiles and the share sheet
- Phone-number accounts, cloud sync and encrypted backups
